Sherelle Cary Smith, founder of Shambrusky Music has been a singer/songwriter for over thirty years and is still a performing artist. Her singing career began at age seventeen with being chosen for a Jazz solo by conductor and then director of the Carpenters, Frank Pooler. She lived in Los Angeles for a time attending college majoring in Voice and also working as a studio vocalist. After that, she toured with a performing group on the East Coast opening for such acts as, McFadden & Whitehead, The Gap Band, The Bar-Kays, and Jerry Butler. After the passing of her mother in 1983, she stepped away from music for a while but still studied and learned about the music industry. She recognized the changes which were taking place and realized the artists need to approach the industry differently, especially artists over thirty. In 2000, she began formulating a strategy to not only help herself, but to help other artists find a way to become successful as well. She has achieved success with radio airplay of her music, publicity via interviews for herself through the Washington Times, Voice of America, and a podcast interview with Ronald Lewis. Her love for music inspired her to form Shambrusky Music as a vehicle for her own published music, and to help encourage other artists to achieve their musical goals while she continues to achieve hers. The company was named after a word her mother made up and used to say whenever she would show her joy for music, dancing, or just life in general. Sherelle understands the needs of an aspiring artist because she is one herself who wants to share her knowledge with other like-minded people. Her belief is that music is a gift meant to be shared on a local, national, or international level. Each artist knows in their heart the level of musical success they would like to achieve. Sherelle Cary Smith through Shambrusky Music is dedicated to helping each artist achieve the success they desire.

"Right now at this exact moment in time, you are an artist. You are this because your heart tells you so. Whether you have sold one CD or one million, you are still an artist. You are part of something very rewarding and beautiful that brings the gift of song to the world. The first step to musical success is to embrace and accept this fact. The first step to musical success is to just let yourself BE".
